United Colours of Arizona Theatre<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Founded in 2016, United Colours of Arizona Theatre began with a Facebook group attempting to create space for BIPOC individuals to convene, network, learn, and thrive within the local fine arts community. The members of United Colours of Arizona Theatre unequivocally support all social justice initiatives, and as ARTivists, their mission is to encourage a more equitable landscape within the local theatre community by creating opportunities for workshops, dance classes, audition prep, and more.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

United Colours of Arizona Theatre<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Founded in 2016, United Colours of Arizona Theatre began with a Facebook group attempting to create space for BIPOC individuals to convene, network, learn, and thrive within the local fine arts community. The members of United Colours of Arizona Theatre unequivocally support all social justice initiatives, and as ARTivists, their mission is to encourage a more equitable landscape within the local theatre community by creating opportunities for workshops, dance classes, audition prep, and more.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With the communities it serves, United Colours of Arizona Theatre has come to realize there is a lack of access to formal dance training, classical theatre training, and vocal lessons. The organization\u2019s initiative fills in that gap by providing workshops to help BIPOC creatives feel prepared in and out of the audition room. The ariZoni Theatre Awards promote the visibility, cooperation, and growth of theaters in the Valley and are dedicated to recognizing excellence in theatrical performances, as well as individuals who produce exceptional work in all aspects of theatre.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Each year at its annual awards ceremony, the ariZoni Theatre Awards Board bestows an outstanding contribution award and a distinguished service award to deserving individuals or organizations for their contributions to theatre. The ariZoni Theatre Awards promote the visibility, cooperation, and growth of theaters in the Valley and are dedicated to recognizing excellence in theatrical performances, as well as individuals who produce exceptional work in all aspects of theatre.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Each year at its annual awards ceremony, the ariZoni Theatre Awards Board bestows an outstanding contribution award and a distinguished service award to deserving individuals or organizations for their contributions to theatre. In addition, the ariZoni Scholarship Committee will award one or more scholarships to selected, qualified students.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After completion of an exhaustive judging process (involving close to 100 adjudicators), awards of excellence are presented to those individuals who have excelled in performance and production during the just-completed season. Awards are presented in the categories of acting, directing, musical direction, writing, choreography, scenic design, costume design, hair and makeup, lighting design, and sound design.
