Scottsdale Arts COVID-19 Response

Your hard work and adherence to our COVID-19 policies and protocols helped keep our doors open. Thank you! We are now ready to relax our policies, and here’s the latest scoop, which goes into effect April 18, 2022:
1. Scottsdale Arts continues to follow CDC, Maricopa County Health Department, and other recognized health advisories for guidance on our COVID-19 policy and will make updates to this policy as needed.
2. Stay home if sick. Proof of full vaccination or a negative test is no longer required to attend events (unless required by the artist protocol), but please stay home if you’re not feeling well.
3. Pitch in. While vaccination and masks are optional, we strongly recommend that only patrons vaccinated to full eligibility attend events so we can keep artists, staff, and patrons safe.
4. Masks are optional. Please feel comfortable to wear your mask or not. Your safety and level of comfort is up to you. If an artist requires masks for their event, you will be notified via email of this mandate.
5. Rock on! We mean it! We are thrilled to be getting back to some normalcy, and we hope you have a great time at our events.

Know Before You Go
Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts’ policies and protocols are rooted in safety for our staff, our artists, and the public and visitors with whom we interact. The primary goals for our response to COVID-19 has always been to protect public health while continuing to fulfill Scottsdale Arts’ vital mission of providing art exhibitions, performing arts events, and community engagement.
We recognize that the pandemic is not over, and instances of COVID-19 remain in our community. Because of that, these policies may change again in the future. This will remain the best place to find out about current safety policies and protocols.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Has Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts upgraded the Virginia G. Piper Theater and Stage 2 ventilation systems?
Yes, the HVAC system has been upgraded to include ionization and UV filtration as well as MERV-13 filters, and our air changes per hour exceed standards for performance spaces.
2. What happens if an artists or event requires more than house policy?
When an artists or event requires a stricter policy—such as requirements for face masks proof of vaccination—we will notify ticket holders by email. If you cannot comply, you will have three days from the date of notification to request a refund.
3. What if I would feel more comfortable still sitting away from people?
Please call Patron Services (box office) and they will be happy to assist you in your seat selection to support that desire if ticket sales capacity will allow.
4. What if I still want to wear my mask?
At no point will we ever require you to remove your mask. Please feel free to wear your mask as long as you feel comfortable doing so.
